Her cataract surgeon was Dr. Jeff Mweene of Lusaka who was a resident trainee on our last outreach in Mongu, but this year he returned with us as a surgeon! This moment is a testament to our sustainability efforts to train up capable local surgeons that will continue to improve eye care in their home countries. We were so happy to have Jeff back again this year! Congrats to him and his patients like this sweet lady ❤️
