Our annual Eye Spy Social Friendsgiving brings the Jacksonville blind and low vision community together for a cozy, potluck-style gathering. Hosted in partnership with Jacksonville Beaches Lions Club, the 2026 event takes place Thursday, November 12, from 7–9 PM. Because connection builds community, Friendsgiving celebrates gratitude, food, and fun in a welcoming space for people who are blind and low vision.
Building on the Success of Eye Spy Socials
Over the past year, Eye Spy Social events like Resolutions: Reality Check, Summer Social, and Mocktail & Mingle have brought blind and low vision residents together in inclusive, low-pressure settings. Guests laughed, shared stories, and discovered new resources and friendships. Moreover, these gatherings highlighted the need for consistent community spaces where people feel seen, supported, and informed. Friendsgiving 2026 continues this program by offering another evening of shared meals, alcohol-free mocktails, and interactive activities that spark conversation and connection. [web:58][web:64]
What to Expect
The evening features alcohol-free mocktails, seasonal dishes, and light bites. Guests are welcome to bring a side or dessert, but it is not required. In addition, the program includes inclusive games, fun activities, and a special speaker from the Jacksonville blind and low vision community. With Jacksonville Beaches Lions Club as our host, the event also celebrates service, community, and the kind of supportive networks that matter most for people navigating vision loss.
