SAAVI Services for the Blind empowers individuals with blindness and low vision in Arizona through training, education, and employment programs that promote independence and confidence.
Saavi Services for the Blind is a nonprofit organization serving individuals with blindness and low vision throughout Arizona. With locations in Tucson and Phoenix, SAAVI offers accessible, life-changing programs that empower people to live independently and confidently, no matter their stage in life. While they no longer have a physical location in Yuma, adults from anywhere in the nation can participate in their comprehensive training programs based in Phoenix and Tucson.
SAAVI’s programs range from mobility and independent living skills to technology training, education, and job readiness. Their philosophy—“It’s not blindness that holds you back, but low expectations”—drives their belief in the abilities of each individual. SAAVI’s services are built around the Structured Discovery model, a hands-on approach that promotes real-world learning and self-confidence.
From youth transition programs to senior services and remote training options, SAAVI helps people navigate vision loss with independence and resilience. The organization also collaborates with employers and community partners to create meaningful opportunities for education, work, and social connection. Youth from all over the country can also participate in the Ready Set Go Summer Camp (RSG 2025), which may currently be full.
SAAVI’s staff includes many individuals who are blind or low vision themselves, bringing personal experience and deep understanding into every service offered. Through its inclusive and empowering approach, SAAVI changes lives every day.
