The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) is a comprehensive education, rehabilitation, and service organization serving individuals who are deaf, blind, deaf-blind, or have a hearing or vision loss, as well as their families. Founded in 1858, AIDB has been providing innovative and quality services to people with sensory disabilities for over 160 years. AIDB operates six campuses across the state, offering a range of programs and services to meet the unique needs of each individual. These include education programs for children and adults, vocational rehabilitation, assistive technology, outreach and training, and much more. AIDB's mission is to empower individuals with sensory disabilities to achieve their maximum potential through specialized services, education, training, and advocacy.
